CRMC Selling WINhealth

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Cheyenne Regional Medical Center is planning to sell its interest in insurance company WINhealth.

CRMC and WINhealth leaders say the insurance company will continue to operate as usual and all its clients will be protected.

CRMC Board of Trustees Vice President Patrick Madigan said Wednesday that the insurance business has become very complicated and the board wants the hospital to end its involvement.

Madigan says the board plans to hire a company that will do an analysis of WINHhealth, which could take six to nine months to complete.

CRMC and Southeast Wyoming Preferred Physicians created WINhealth in 1996.

WINhealth CEO Stephen K. Goldstone says the group has discussed joining a different company with CRMC for years.

He says the insurance group is not going away.
