University of Wyoming Head Football Coach Craig Bohl says his team is focusing on getting better following a 56-14 loss to nationally ranked Michigan State on Saturday.

He noted that even with the defeat the pokes still have a winning record at 3-2. He also noted the Cowboys earlier this year defeated Air Force, which came away with a win against Boise State on Saturday.

Bohl says the important thing for the Cowboys is to move forward as a team and work to improve in all areas. He also noted the team is in the "elementary stages" of installing new  new systems on offense, defense and in the kicking game.

He also said even though the Michigan State game didn't turn out well for Wyoming, there were some positives, including some aspects of the Wyoming running game and specifically the play of running back Shaun Wicks. Bohl says he's especially been surprised so far by Wicks' ability to break off some long runs.

But Bohl says there are also things the team needs to correct, including taking care of defensive assignments and generally playing a more physical style of football.

The Cowboys have a bye week this week, followed by a road game against the University of Hawaii on October 11.
