~~Fast and Furious weapons tied to high profile killing in Mexico~~

The news emanating from the United States regarding the political firestorm of Operation Furious and Furious and its connection to the killing of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, has renewed interest in another murder that’s linked to the controversial gunrunning operation, a drug enforcement official formerly assigned to duty in Mexico told the Law Enforcement Examiner on Sunday.

According to the drug enforcement source, Mario Gonzalez, the brother of a Mexican law enforcement official, was abducted in 2011 by Mexican drug cartel enforcers who then tortured him and forced him to make a bogus confession al-la al-Qaeda-style videotaping. When the video was completed, the cartel killers savagely executed him.

While American officials offered their condolences to the sister of cartel’s victim, they never dreamed at the time that the weapons used by those cartel enforcers were firearms that U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) allowed to be smuggled into Mexico and into the hands of vicious cartel members, said the Law Enforcement Examiner source who requested anonymity.

According to several government and news media reports, U.S. ATF agents had allowed AK-47 assault rifles — later found in the killers’ arsenal — to be smuggled across the border under the notorious Fast and Furious gun-walking program.

“U.S. officials also kept mum as other weapons linked to Fast and Furious turned up at dozens of additional Mexican crime scenes, with an unconfirmed toll of at least 150 people killed or wounded,” said the source.

Almost a year after U.S. congressional hearings and the reassignment of the acting chief of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, top Mexican officials say American authorities still have not explained the operation or the dreadful results of that operation, the source said.

Patricia Gonzalez, the top state prosecutor in Chihuahua at the time of her brother’s kidnapping, said she has worked closely with U.S. law enforcement officers for years and was stunned that she did not learn until many months later, through media reports, about the link between her brother’s death and Fast and Furious weapons, according to the Mexican news media.

Operation Fast and Furious weapons were also tied to other deadly incidents in Mexico. In May 24, a helicopter carrying Mexican federal police during an operation in the western state of Michoacan was forced to land after bullets from a powerful Barrett .50-caliber rifle pierced its fuselage and armor-reinforced windshield. Three officers were wounded.

~~Watchdog group: Obama’s stealth amnesty coverup exposed~~

Jim Kouri~~

President Barack Obama’s controversial announcement of his plan to spare more than 800,000 young illegal aliens from deportation received an enormous amount of media attention, in spite of being promulgated on a Friday which is said to be a slow news day. But, according to an inside-the-Beltway watchdog group, most Americans may not realize the administration is also working behind the scenes granting stealth amnesty to many more illegal aliens.

Columnist and Fox News analyst Charles Krauthammer used all the strength he could muster just to restrain himself when he learned of the new Obama policy. He called it “amnesty-by-fiat” and “naked lawlessness.”

Since there are currently no work permits for illegal aliens, handing them out would require a change in the existing law, stated the Townhall columnist.

“It’s bad enough that the commander-in-chief has blown off Congress by giving young people brought to the United States through no fault of their own as children a chance at U.S. citizenship. Except for those who live under a rock, practically everyone has been exposed to some sort of news coverage involving the heavily promoted amnesty for young illegals,” states the Judicial Watch blog.

Besides President Obama’s Rose Garden press conference on Friday, June 15, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued a bilingual announcement explaining the “deferred action process” for illegal aliens brought into the United States as young children, according to the blog report.

“What happened on June 15, 2012, at the White House was nothing short of a declaration of war on the United States Constitution, Bill of Rights and our national sovereignty, where are own borders can be breached by illegal immigrants, free from prosecution or deportation. At a time when national unemployment rate is in actuality nearing 15%, the current occupant of the Oval Office, Obama, has declared that the United States government contains only one level of government… the Executive Branch,” said Robert P. Dean, founder of the American Patriot Alliance PAC.

They will receive a Presidential “get out of jail card” for a period of two years, subject to renewal, and will be eligible to apply for work authorization. Both the White and DHS neglected to answer questions regarding how this sudden influx of close to a million young people into the legitimate workforce will impact the already large number of unemployed young citizens, political strategist Mike Baker pointed out.

“While the news media practically genuflected before the President as he spoke in the Rose Garden, they failed to ask questions about how an economically troubled nation can be fair to its own citizens if it imports workers from other countries,” Baker noted.

“There won’t be any formal announcements or White House press conferences about the secret amnesty however, but it’s in full force. Just take a look at the latest Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) figures released by a nonprofit university group dedicated to researching the U.S. government,” states Judicial Watch.

Judicial Watch officials point to the nonpartisan New York-based data research center, Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC), which provides detailed information about the operation of hundreds of government agencies. Immigration is one of many areas it researches.

“As of the end of May, 4,585 deportation cases were closed under a special ICE program created last summer to conduct an unprecedented review of all immigration cases pending in the immigration courts and incoming cases,” states the JW blogger.

That’s Obama and DHS code for backdoor amnesty. By early this year, the plan was underway with a record number of illegal immigrants spared deportation and a huge increase in the number of those allowed to remain in the United States. TRAC provided those figures as well back in February, reports the JW blog.

The number continues rising, according to TRAC’s latest findings. The amount of pending deportations canceled through “prosecutorial discretion” nearly doubled from the previous quarter with the Los Angeles Immigration Court leading the nation with the largest number of closures (534) under this special amnesty initiative. Denver was second with 401 and San Francisco third with 387. TRAC provided a chart showing the breakdown by location.

These Homeland Security figures aren’t easy to obtain for a group that’s become a rather painful thorn for the administration. After engaging in a fierce legal battle with ICE over records involving immigration enforcement, TRAC finally obtained them and earlier this year made them public, Judicial Watch reported.

The records show that ICE repeatedly lied to Congress, the American people and the media by drastically increasing the number of individuals that have been apprehended, deported or detained, according to the Judicial Watch blog.
