Cheyenne Police Investigate Stabbing/Fight

Cheyenne Police were called to Lincoln Park in south Cheyenne early Friday morning regarding a large fight in the area.

Cheyenne Police Department spokesman Sgt. Rob Dafoe says at approximately 3:45 am, responding officers detained the occupants of a vehicle leaving the area.

Soon after, other police officers were dispatched to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center regarding an alleged assault victim who was receiving treatment in the Emergency Room. Arriving officers determined the victim had a stab wound on his lower back which reportedly occurred during an earlier fight at Lincoln Park. The victim, a 20 year-old Cheyenne man, was admitted to the hospital for his injuries. His current condition is unknown.

Sgt. Dafoe says 32 year-old Santos Munoz Jr. of Cheyenne was arrested and booked into the jail on a Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon charge. The case remains under investigation by Cheyenne Police Detectives.
