Did your favorite team win on Friday night?

Local high school football teams opened their seasons on Friday, August 28, two of them at home and one on the road, and only one ended up with a victory.

The #4-ranked East Thunderbirds were the only Cheyenne team with a win after action wrapped up on the first Friday night of the high school football season. The T-Birds held off the Rock Springs Tigers 13-7 at the new Okie Blanchard Stadium.

Across town at Milt Riske field, the Central Indians hosted the #1-ranked Natrona Mustangs. It was a close battle for most of the game, but Casper pulled ahead to win 16-0.

Meanwhile, Cheyenne South traveled across the state to take on Evanston. In another close contest, the Red Devils pulled out a 12-7 victory over the Bison. For more scores, log on to WyoPreps sports website.
