The Laramie County Sheriff's Department is looking for a man who tried to burglarize a car and then fired shots at the car owner early this (Thursday March 26) morning.

Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Linda Gesell says that incident was reported shortly after 5 a.m. in the 700 block of Juliana Road, where a vehicle owner found a man trying to burglarize their car.

The burglar ran away, with the vehicle owner chasing him. Gesell says in the area of Avenue B-2 and Dallas Road, the burglar fired some shots at the car owner, who was not hit.

But the burglar got away, and authorities are trying to find him. He's described as a Hispanic male, standing about 5'10 and weighing around 250 pounds. One spent casing from a semi-automatic pistol was found at the scene.

The Sheriff's Department is asking anyone who lives in that area to contact them if they had any vehicles or other property hit by a stray bullet.
