A woman from British Columbia, Canada, died when her motorcycle collided with a deer west of Aladdin on Monday, according to a news release from the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

Mary M. Sataya, 52, of Port Coquitlam, B.C., was riding on Wyoming State Highway 24 about two miles west of Aladdin when her motorcycle collided with a deer, according to the news release from Patrol Sgt. David Wagener.

Her motorcycle then crossed both lanes of the highway and crashed into the eastbound guardrail where Sataya was separated from the motorcycle.

She was was wearing a helmet and a full protective riding suit.

Sataya was taken to Lookout Memorial Hospital in Spearfish, S.D., where she died.

She is projected to be the 48th highway fatality in Wyoming for 2015.
There were 47 fatalities during this same time period last year.
