1. Martin Van Buren - He was the first president to actually be born in the United States as a U.S. Citizen. All other presidents prior to him were born as British subjects.
2. James Monroe - This president has a city in Africa named after him. If you have ever heard of Monrovia, which is the capital of Liberia, then you know where the name came from.
3. James Madison - He was the shortest president to hold office at just 5'4".
4. Franklin Pierce - Most presidents place their hand upon the Bible when being sworn into office, but not this president. Instead, he placed his right hand upon a law book when sworn into office.
5. William H. Taff - This big man once got stuck in the presidential bathtub and had to call staffers to pull him out. Some say this was nothing more than a myth.
