Cowboy senior guard Josh Adams was named to the U.S. Basketball Writers Association’s All-District VIII Team Tuesday.

Adams averaged 24.9 points per game to lead the Mountain West and rank third in the country this season. He also paced the Pokes at 5.6 rebounds per contest, 4.2 assists and 1.5 steals. Adams ranked in the top 10 of 11 different MW statistical categories.

Adams is one of three MW representatives on the USBWA’s All-District VIII Team, which is comprised of teams from Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, New Mexico, Colorado, Nevada and Montana.

He is the second Cowboy to earn the accolade in the last two years, after Larry Nance Jr. was honored last season.

The award is voted on by the USBWA’s national membership of 900-plus.
