Wyoming Police Department Issues Fake Jewelry Warning
The Rock Springs Police Department is warning people to be on the lookout for a man selling fake jewelry at local gas stations.
According to a post on the RSPD Facebook page. the man has been approaching people with his family at gas stations and claiming to be broke and in need of money to travel. He's been selling items that look genuine, but after making the purchase, victims discover the items are simply cheap costume jewelry of little value.
Because the items are sold for cash the buyer has little recourse.
The man is described as possibly Middle Eastern and driving a dark-colored SUV with California plates. Anyone who has spoken to the man is being asked to contact the Rock Springs Police Department at 307-362-6575 or by messaging the RSPD Facebook page.
