CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — A hospital in Casper is discussing affiliation agreements with larger hospital systems to try to keep costs down.

Wyoming Medical Center board member Mark Dowell said Friday no decisions have been made.

Dowell tells the Casper Star-Tribune such an agreement could be a "very big win" for the Casper community and Wyoming as a whole.

Dowell isn't naming organizations the board is talking with, saying he can't legally discuss such details. He describes the talks as still exploratory but says the matter won't take years to decide.

Hospital spokeswoman Kristy Bleizeffer says the hospital doesn't have anything to add to a May statement that it was not negotiating with any particular hospital or hospital system.
