Wyoming Jobless Rate Falls Slightly In February
Wyoming's unemployment rate fell from 4.1 percent in January to 4.0 percent in February, according to a new state report.
The Research and Planning Section of the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services also reports the February 2018 unemployment rate is down by a half a percentage point from the February 2017 jobless figure of 4.5 percent.
In the year-over-year comparison, unemployment rates either stayed steady or declined in every Wyoming county. The largest declines between February 2017 and a year later were found in Sublette [from 6.0 to 4.1 percent], Campbell [6.1 to 4.3 percent], Natrona [6.7 to 5.1 percent], and Converse [5.3 to 3.7 percent] counties.
Teton County had the lowest unemployment rate last month [2.4 percent].
It was followed by Niobrara [2.6 percent], Goshen [2.7 percent], and Albany [2.8 percent] counties. The highest unemployment rates were in Fremont [5.8 percent], Park [5.3 percent] and Natrona and Sheridan counties [both 5.1 percent].
