Wyoming Game and Fish Department head Scott Talbott is not pleased with a federal judge's ruling restoring federal protections for grizzly bears in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.

U.S. District Judge Dana Christensen on Monday issued the ruling that blocked what would have been the first grizzly hunts in the lower 48 states in almost 30 years.

In response to the ruling, Talbot said "This is unfortunate. Game and fish is a strong proponent of all wildlife management being led by people who live in this state and having management decisions made at the local level."

Wyoming's governor and congressional delegation also have expressed displeasure with the ruling
