Wyoming County Officials Express Support for 1% Sales Tax
Commissioners in a Wyoming County have expressed support for a 1% general sales tax.
The Cody Enterprise reported that members of the Park County Commissioners back a November 2020 vote in favor of the proposal would help reduce a $1.9 million county deficit.
Officials say the tax could bring in more than $3 million annually for the Park County government. Officials say the county deficit could be as much as $2.3 million for 2021.
Wyoming county voters have the option to vote on taxes every two or four years. Commissioner Lloyd Thiel says county staff and services could be cut if if a tax does not pass.
