The Wyoming Workforce Development Council (WWDC) in partnership with the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services honored five outstanding employers, individuals or projects during the 2012 Governor’s Summit on Workforce Solutions Awards.

Joan Evans, Director of the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services says the significant contributions of these employers continues to strengthen Wyoming’s workforce and economic vitality. I applaud their investment in Wyoming’s most important workforce asset: its workers.

The Innovation in the Workplace award was presented to S & S Builders, LLC of Gillette, an employer committed to investing in the development and well-being of their employees and Wyoming's workforce.

The Workforce Partnership Award was presented to Debra Parker of Kmart of Cheyenne. This award recognizes those who demonstrate a unique collaboration between businesses and community organizations that are linked to the workforce system, economic development and education which results in addressing a workforce issue.

The Outstanding Individual Performance was presented to Jan Lawrence of Basic Beginnings in Laramie. The award recognizes those who have made significant contributions to the workforce development profession through the development or enhancement of public or private workforce systems, or the building of strategic alliances and partnerships.

The Outstanding Investment in Young Workers was presented to Campbell County School District, Energy Resources Club of Gillette, an employer committed to investing in young workers.

The Outstanding Investment in Older Workers was presented to Chuck Oswald of Experience Works in Casper, an employer committed to hiring, training and retaining older workers.
