At 8:07, the budget crisis in Washington may seem far away, but it is about to have a major impact on the Wyoming state budget.  Each year Wyoming gets $2.2 billion from the federal government.  As the Congressional "Super-Committee" continues its work on the debt crisis, we can expect major cuts in these funds.  This could force drastic changes to the benefits that Wyoming families get from the state .... and have a big impact on the state's balance sheet.  Wyoming Liberty Group research fellow and economist Sven Larson will describe the implications. ·  Dr. Larson will address the fact that federal aid comes with strings attached, which are costly to the state's compliance budget as well as to individual liberties.  Is this a good opportunity for the state to take control over its budget?   Is it time for legislators to finally say 'thanks but no thanks’  to federal aid?At  9:07 State Senior Economist, Jim Robinson from the Economic Analysis Division was back for his regular monthly update.
