7:37AM MDT: Dr. Michael Glasscock III...-An estimated 10 million people in the US aged 12-20 report drinking alcohol during the past month – these are just the underage users -Approximately 23 Americans are current illicit drug users -About 18 million Americans are classified with alcohol dependence/abuse With numbers like the ones above, it is no surprise that the scope of substance abuse is reaching an alarming state. Sadly, substance abuse affects many millions of people, and directly impacts careers, relationships, families, and children every day.  Michael E. Glasscock III M.D. F.A.C.S. spent most of his career in Nashville, TN in private practice at the Otology Group, which he founded.  While there, he was also a clinical professor in the Department of Otolaryngology and an Associate Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center.  Dr. Glasscock ran an Otology/Neurotology fellowship program from 1975-1997, training fifty otologists.  His fellowship program andpractice are now part of Vanderbilt.
