ORIGINAL STORY: A confirmed tornado was located near the Gillette Airport shortly before 2 p.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

A tornado warning was issued, set to remain in effect until 2:15 p.m. The tornado was moving east at 35 mph.

Ping pong ball-sized hail was listed as an associated hazard, and local residents were warned to seek shelter in order to avoid flying debris.

The Weather Service urged everyone in the area to move to a basement or interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building, and avoid windows.
