A wanted Cheyenne man who eluded police Tuesday night was arrested in the North Star Ranch neighborhood early Wednesday morning, according to the Laramie County Sheriff's Office.

Capt. Linda Gesell says it all started around 9 p.m. Tuesday when police tried to pull over 31-year-old Robert Yetsick at Central Avenue and Walker Road.

"He fled northbound (and) ended up out in that neighborhood up by I think it's Morning Star and Coonrod," said police spokesman Officer Kevin Malatesta.  "As it left the city it sounds like Highway Patrol took over the actual pursuit portion of things."

Malatesta says Yetsick was "driving through fields and then ended up stuck in a field."

"Our officers deployed a K9 unit to do a search of the area," said Malatesta.  "Apparently he had a little bit of a head start before we began tracking."

Gesell says deputies made contact with Yetsick around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday after a resident in the 11000 block of Coonrod Road "called to report a suspicious male came to the door and said his car broke down."

Yetsick was arrested on a warrant out of Weld County, Colorado for failing to appear on a fraud charge.  He has yet to be formally charged in the incident.
