Two Cheyenne men were sentenced in federal court this week for access with intent to view child pornography.

James Michael Frey, 28, was sentenced Monday to 41 months in prison, and 34-year-old Darren Scott Hartwig was sentenced Tuesday to five years in prison.

Frey, on April 15, admitted to possessing a 1TB hard drive between Nov. 17, 2013 and July 26, 2018, which he used to access digital images depicting prepubescent minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

In exchange for his guilty plea, a count of attempted receipt of child pornography was dismissed.

Hartwig also took a plea deal in his case, and on April 10 pleaded guilty to viewing child porn on the internet from June through July 2018.

Both men will be on supervised release for five years once they are released from prison.
