Two Charged with Arson in Connection with Guernsey Fire

Two arrests have been made in connection with the fire at Guernsey State Park earlier this month that burned over 2,700 acres, authorities have announced.

Awaiting arraignment on third-degree arson charges in the Platte County jail are Thomas Pierson and Stephanie Schultz, both 36 and of Torrington. The two stand accused of allowing their campfire to get out of control, leading to the June 9th fire.

Guernsey State Park was under a fire ban. The fire closed the park through June 17.
