But even with the end of those restrictions, the BOPU is reminding people about the other water conservation rules that remain in effect.

Washing hard surfaces, such as sidewalks, parking lots or driveways with a hose is prohibited except when needed for safety, health or construction-related reasons.

Other watering rules remain in effect, including a ban on wasting water by allowing it to run down the street.

The release says a first violation will result in a warning, and a second violation may result in fines being added to the water bill.

The daytime watering restrictions are an annual event, designed to conserve water during peak usage times of the year.

''Board crews have observed several residents and businesses not following the summer watering schedule. As a reminder, Board crews are enforcing these rules.''

Other water conservation rules apply all year long.

There are still some watering restrictions in effect in Cheyenne.

The BOPU says the city has been consuming an average of 23 million gallons of water a day during July.

Laramie County Commissioner Amber Ash says a study group which was set up to propose a water conservation plan for the county to the State Engineer's Office has so far not put forward any plan.
