The January 6 Select Committee, led by Congresswoman Liz Cheney, has voted unanimously to subpoena former president Donald Trump for his perceived role in the January 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

His lawyers have argued that congressional investigations are valid only if there is legislation that might result from them.

It is that call, and the circumstances surrounding it, that are fueling the new Democratic drive for impeachment.

For Democrats, those pages amount to a green light to finish what Mueller started.
