Wyoming will celebrate 125 years of statehood on Friday. The celebration begins at 3:00 p.m. with the early release of state employees. Governor Matt Mead and other dignitaries will then speak from the capitol steps. Mineral leasing revenues are typically split roughly evenly between the states and the Interior Department. The government last year paid $2.1 billion to the states under the mineral leasing program.
