Summer Sports Classic this weekend

Wyoming will be represented by two incredible athletes during the Special Olympics World Winter Games, which will be held in Kazan Russia on January 22-25.

The Cheyenne leg of the torch run will begin at the intersection of Capitol and Randall Avenues around 9 a.m. that morning.

Wyoming will once again host the Jackalope Jump benefitting Special Olympics Wyoming this year and they are adding a twist to this year’s event by offering ‘Virtual Jackalope Jumps.’

To date, more than $75,000 has been raised

Over 700 athletes are in Wyoming for the games, which continued Friday with basketball, swimming and diving, and track and field events.

If you were out and about in Cheyenne Thursday morning you may have seen some of the state's best athletes!

The Wyoming Special Olympics games kick off tonight in Laramie. The Wyoming Cattlewomen announced the selection of the 2013 Wyoming Beef Ambassador Team. Joy Greenwald reports. Click past the jump to listen to Wyoming Radio News.
