Solid Waste Transfer Station

Trash and recycle pick up scheduled for Presidents' Day on Monday, Feb. 15, will take place on Saturday, Feb. 13, the City of Cheyenne announced Wednesday.

People who normally have their trash picked up on Monday or Tuesday are being asked to have it ready for collection on Saturday morning.

Cheyenne residents will need to present a utility bill with their name and address to take advantage of the free dumping.

Motorists will not be allowed out of their cars. Sanitation workers will instead unload waste from vehicles.

Cheyenne City officials are reminding residents that hazardous wastes are not accepted at the city landfill on Happy Jack Road. Commercially generated wastes as defined under federal and state law are not permitted at the landfill. Vehicles containing such waste will not be allowed either at the landfill or at the city Solid Waste Transfer Station, according to release from the city...

Items accepted at Sunday's event include pesticides, motor oil, household cleaners, antifreeze, solvents and oil-based paint.
