The Cheyenne Police Department has issued an accident alert due to slick streets and roadways.

The Cheyenne area could see upwards of eight inches of snow Friday evening through Saturday evening, the National Weather Service in Cheyenne says.

The NWS says mountain travel may be hazardous due to slick roads and reduced visibility in falling snow.

Snow continues to be in the forecast this week, but the National Weather Service in Cheyenne says the best chance for the white stuff looks to be Wednesday afternoon into the evening hours.

The state of Wyoming does a great job keeping us all informed of the road conditions across the state.

Officers will only be responding to accidents involving injuries, road blockage, drunk drivers and hit-and-runs.

Parts of southeast Wyoming could see an inch of snow tonight and Friday, making for slick roads and periods of reduced visibility.

Roads and sidewalks will likely be slick Thursday morning as another storm system brings freezing drizzle to the Cheyenne area.

The National Weather Service is warning those with travel plans to be prepared for blowing snow and slick roads.

Officers will be responding to vehicle accidents in the normal fashion.​
