Red Flag Warning

Strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures will make for critical fire conditions in portions of southeast Wyoming today.

Saturday will be dry and hot with near-record highs along and east of Interstate 25, according to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne.

Both Cheyenne and Laramie are included in the warning area.

Today will be the worst of the two days, with winds gusting to 40 mph and afternoon humidity down near 10 percent

Critical fire danger for many areas is expected again tomorrow [Aug. 25].

Critical fire weather is occurring in much of the Cowboy State, the National Weather Service announced Monday evening.

In other words, the weather much of the Cowboy State has seen throughout the summer.

Hot, dry, windy weather will make for critical fire conditions over parts of southeast Wyoming the next couple of days.

Hot and dry conditions will lead to critical fire danger over the South Laramie Range and foothills this afternoon, but a nice cooldown is expected late week.
