The first responders of Laramie County are getting some much needed assistance in the form of CARES act funding that has been approved by the State Loan Investment Board. The funding will help provide assorted protective gear and devices for the Cheyenne firefighters.

She says there are shortages of gowns, hair covers, shoe covers, masks and N95 masks.

The VA now has about a 30-day supply of gear including masks and gowns.

Another common scam these days is the online advertising of bogus Personal Protective Equipment [PPE], especially facemasks.

The remaining 10% is being held in reserve for federal workers.

To create each mask, a single layer of 100 percent cotton fabric should be used.
