A state Economist says the report is one more sign that the state economy is gradually improving.

State income has now increased for two consecutive quarters after steady declines in 2016.

Personal income includes wages, dividends and interest and government benefits such as Social Security.

While Wyoming had the ninth-highest personal income in the country last year, a state economist says that can be misleading.
