The Wyoming Department of Health on Tuesday reported 16 more coronavirus-related deaths, bringing the state's death toll to 809.

Gov. Mark Gordon says Wyoming is "trending pretty well compared to our piers in terms of total number of cases."

The state recorded 161 new lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases between July 3-9.

Roughly half a dozen restaurant employees in Cheyenne have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past week or so, and several others are probable.

The move initially spelled relief.

Precautions are even more important now that community spread has been identified as a possibility.

All positive patients are being monitored by health officials to ensure appropriate precautions are being taken.

Officials say the three newest cases involve people located in Cheyenne who are not family members.

Further information about the new Laramie County and Park County cases was not immediately available.
