Laramie County Fire District #2

A Thursday night fire at Cheyenne Memorial Services is under investigation.

The fire was started by a faulty extension cord that was lying in tall dry grass.

The call came in at 1:15 a.m. as a fully involved detached garage fire. LCFD#2 apparatus arrived on scene, which was approximately 7.5 miles outside of Cheyenne, within 10 minutes.

Laramie County Fire District #2 received a request from the Loveland Fire & Rescue to supply a Structural Fire Engine, a Type 6 Engine (Wildland fire type vehicle) and a Rescue vehicle.

LCFD#2 would like to remind the public to use caution when dealing with fireworks, controlled burns or disposing of hot ashes that could ignite nearby grass.
