As October rolls in, the sound of sirens will fill the air—it's that time again for emergency tests across Albany and Laramie counties.

While the storm raged, Laramie County dodged a tornado bullet. However, the aftermath is prompting some serious caution for homeowners.

Laramie County Emergency Management Director Jeanine West says she has been told that the Cheyenne Weather Service Office will be closing from 1 am until 7 am.

The landspout did prompt quite a few questions on local social media pages as to why the Laramie County emergency sirens were not activated.

Laramie County Public Works crews are focused on keeping the roads open and will not be able to assist if you are stuck on the side of the road.

Officials say they are consulting with the National Weather Service and monitoring local streams, but as of Wednesday morning, there were no local flooding issues.

The Cheyenne/Laramie County Emergency Management Agency will test it's outdoor warning siren system on Friday.
