Cheyenne residents looking to celebrate Independence Day with a bang may get a bust if they decide to shoot off fireworks in the capital city.

Cheyenne's annual fireworks show will light up the skies over Frontier Park beginning at 9:35 p.m. on the Fourth of July.

While the subzero temperatures coming through southeast Wyoming may have you somewhat distracted this week, at least for now, maybe this incredible video of some Wyoming clouds will remind you of some days to look forward to when just looking up can be pretty majestic in the Cowboy State.

"Independence Day really defines Wyoming," Barrasso said. "People here are independent, resilient, self-reliant. There's no place like this for the 4th of July."

Trash and recycle pick up scheduled for next Monday, July 5, will take place as normally scheduled, the City of Cheyenne announced Monday.

Because of insurance reasons, only fireworks purchased through Pyro City Fireworks, Black Cat Fireworks Outlet, Phantom Fireworks and USA Fireworks may be shot at the site.

Biden raised the prospect of beginning to gain what he called “independence from this virus” by the Fourth of July.

During the Independence Day holiday in 2019, there were two alcohol-involved crashes, one of which resulted in injury.

Should Cheyenne legalize fireworks? Or is the current ordinance needed to prevent more widespread safety and fire issues?

Professionally-produced fireworks displays are allowed at certain events, such as the July 4th show at the Casper Events Center.
