Starkey urged drivers to slow down, drive defensively and give themselves extra time to reach their destination on schedule.

The crash occurred on Wyoming Highway 59 near milepost 37 north of Bill at roughly 4:45 p.m. Sunday.

It took until 1 a.m. for 16 firefighters and two command officers to extinguish the blaze.

The Patrol lists speed as a contributing factor in the crash.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol says the accident occurred at about 7:30 am, near mile marker 99 in a construction zone where traffic was stopped on both sides of a road repair project.
