President Donald Trump and congressional Democrats are at odds over funding for a border wall.

Xanterra general manager Mike Keller says any assistance from others, such as the state of Wyoming, to keep Yellowstone access open would help.

The bill would create an automatic continuing resolution for any regular appropriations bill keeping the federal government open when budget negotiations falter.

The government shutdown plan includes the closing of government-run operations and facilities, no staffing at the entrance stations, and limited emergency response.

A total of 239 state employees were on a partial or full furlough because of the budget impasse.

The partial shutdown of the federal government has been holding up permits for new oil and gas drilling and mining operations on federal land.

A Wyoming Department of Health spokeswoman says the state has adequate funding to keep the program running for a few weeks.

As a result of the Federal government shutdown, essentially all services provided by the Bureau of Land Management will be suspended, with the exception of law enforcement and emergency response functions.  Approximately 4,000 recreation facilities, including visitor centers, facilities, campgrounds, boat ramps and other recreation sites will be closed...

If there is a Federal government shutdown it would not affect any Postal Service operations and mail service. Postal Service spokesman Al Desarro says the agency is not supported by tax dollars but by revenue from the sale of stamps and other postal services.  DeSarro says the Postal Service would continue to operate nationwide.
