Cheyenne Fire Rescue is reminding those planning to shoot off fireworks this Fourth of July to do so with extreme caution.

According to the U.S. Fire Administration, fireworks injure more than 13,000 people and cause roughly $20 million in property damage each year.

A spokesman for the union which represents local firefighters wants people to know even the few fireworks items which are legal in Cheyenne city limits can be dangerous if they aren't handled properly.
