This is the first time in the 124-year history of the event that CFD will not be held.

While the fair is canceled, people are looking for activities that don't involve crowds.

According to an economic impact study released Tuesday, a total of 543,705 people attended the 10-day celebration, spending approximately $27.1 million.

The $100 million project used $85 million from state appropriations and $15 million from UW reserves. It is scheduled for completion in early 2021.
