A family vacationing in Yellowstone National Park had an encounter with a black bear that seldom have experienced.

The bear apparently followed Garden Creek from Casper Mountain and found itself in off guard and in unfamiliar territory.

Area residents are being warned to watch out for an adult black bear that was seen in the fringe areas of south Cheyenne this morning.

Well, if you need something to wake you up early on a Wednesday, there's nothing like seeing a young black bear roaming around the neighborhood. In addition to the surveys for black bear, gray wolf and wild turkey, more completed surveys are needed from the elk and deer hunters who received survey requests.
