Recently, ash trees in Cheyenne have been the target of two problem insects- ash/lilac borer (ALB) and oystershell scale (OSS).

Since the borer was first found in Michigan in the early 2000s it has laid waste to thousand of acres of the trees.

Cheyenne Botanic Gardens Director Shane Smith says a new insect pest, which could threaten ash trees, will likely arrive in Laramie County before long.
