RAWLINS, Wyo. (AP) — The Travel Channel will feature the Wyoming Frontier Prison in Rawlins on its "Ghost Adventures" program.

The Wyoming prison episode is scheduled to air Jan. 11.

"Ghost Adventures" features investigations of paranormal activity throughout the world.

The Associated Press reports that negotiations between the Old Pen Joint Powers Board and the show's production company began in 2011. An agreement was reached in September 2012, and filming on site at the Wyoming Frontier Prison took place last October.

The former Wyoming State Penitentiary, now known as the Wyoming Frontier Prison, operated from 1901-1981. After closing because of infrastructure problems and overcrowding, the site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

It is now a museum offering guided tours. It attracts about 15,000 visitors a year.
