Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities spokesman Clint Bassett says the wet, heavy snow that is hitting southeast Wyoming is very good news for BOPU water customers.

He says before the latest storm, the BOPU water reserves were a mixed picture. While the reservoirs were still full or near full, a snowpack that was only 68-70 percent of normal was beginning to raise concerns.

He also notes the current storm is especially helpful because it is made up of, heavy, wet show along with periods of some rain. That bodes well for the long-term water outlook over the Summer, according to Bassett.
