Steenbergen:Oil Industry Driving Laramie County Growth

Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Dale Steenbergen says the oil industry is contributing a lot to the local economy.

Steenbergen says Laramie County's economy is doing "extremely well" right now. He says a major factor in that are the oil field service companies that are "constantly hiring all across the county".  He says Pine Bluffs and other areas of the county are also benefiting.  Steenbergen says the companies are largely servicing drilling operations in other areas, especially Weld County, Colorado. He says 39 rigs were operating in Weld County as of last report..

Steenbergen says that while there is some drilling  in Laramie County, the fact that much of the drilling is in other areas allows this area to "have the best of both worlds". economically.
