A Sheridan man is dead following a single-vehicle rollover three miles south of Ranchester Wednesday night.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol says 40-year-old Daniel Sutherland was headed north on Wyoming State Highway 345 around 10 p.m. when he lost control of his pickup and rolled multiple times.

Sutherland, who was buckled up, was taken to Sheridan Memorial Hospital where he died from his injuries.

Sutherland's passenger, 22-year-old Devin Albitre of Minot, North Dakota, was not wearing his seat belt, was not ejected and was taken to St. Vincent Hospital in Billings, Montana.

The Patrol says alcohol, texting while driving and excessive speed may have contributed to the crash.
