Severe Thunderstorm Watch

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for parts of Wyoming and Colorado, that includes the cities of Cheyenne and Laramie until 8:00 PM tonight (May 2, 2019).

Primary threats include...Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible.

The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
Eastern Colorado
Eastern Wyoming

* Effective this Sunday afternoon and evening from 1210 PM until
800 PM MDT.

* Primary threats include...
Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2
inches in diameter possible
Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

SUMMARY...Thunderstorms will continue to develop across the mountain
of central Colorado and spread eastward into the watch area. The
strongest cells will pose a risk of large hail and damaging wind
gusts.

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 55
statute miles east and west of a line from 50 miles north of Douglas
WY to 35 miles east southeast of Trinidad CO. For a complete

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
