The search for a missing Superior man went into its fourth day on Monday.

Sweetwater County Sheriff Mike Lowell said that Darrell Douglas Sowder, 59, was last seen at his Superior home around 12:30 PM on Friday.

Family members told investigating deputies they fear Sowder might harm himself.

All vehicles that Sowder had routine access to have been accounted for. County officers searched a number of locations in the Superior area, including a motor home, the Superior Town Hall and  Post Office, a local business, baseball fields and parks, and the Superior Fire Station, where he serves as a volunteer firefighter, but have been unable thus far to locate him.

Authorities said Sowder is a white male, 6'0" tall, weight about 200 pounds, with greying hair and blue eyes. When last seen he was wearing a red polo-style shirt and blue jeans.

Lowell is asking the public to be on the lookout for Sowder. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Sheriff’s Office or other local law enforcement agency.
