
Scouts Among Five Killed In Crash Near Thermopolis
Five people were killed Saturday morning in a two-vehicle head-on crash about 33 miles north of Thermopolis on WYO 120 in Hot Springs County.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol reports that shortly after 10:00 a.m., a vehicle carrying four people crossed the center line and collided head-on with a motor home pulling a passenger car. Five people were in the motor home.
Three people in the vehicle and a three-year-old in the motor home were killed. The driver of the motor home was airlifted from the scene to a Billings, Montana, hospital. Three others in the motor home, were taken by ambulance to a hospital. A passenger in the vehicle was also rushed to a hospital in Cody, where they were pronounced dead.
Investigators say the vehicle was one of several carrying a group of Boy Scouts that were returning to the Colorado Springs area after spending time at a camp in northwest Wyoming.
The names of the victims have not been released, and the crash remains under investigation.
