Rock Springs Man Accused Of Stealing Guns
A 44-year-old Rock Springs man is facing theft charges after he was arrested for stealing several firearms, according to a spokesman for the Sweetwater County Sheriff's Department.
Dick Blust says Robert J. "Bobby" Miller was arrested following on investigation into the theft of a Sig-Sauer .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol, a Marlin Model 1895G .45/70 lever action rifle, a Weatherby Vanguard rifle in .300 Winchester Magnum, and a Weatherby .257 Magnum bolt-action rifle with orange and black camo-wrapped stock and a telescopic sight.
Blust says Miller was arrested on June 27 carrying the stolen Sig-Sauer pistol. Investigators have since found the Weatherby Vanguard rifle and the Marlin .45/70 as well as the Sig-Sauer pistol, but are still looking for the Weatherby .257 Magnum rifle. Miler has been charged with felony Theft and Wrongful Taking or Disposing of Property.
Circuit Court Judge John Prokos in Green River set Miller's bond at $15,000 cash or surety on Wednesday. At last report, Miller was still being held in the Sweetwater County jail.
