Remembering Chris LeDoux on the Anniversary of his Passing
On March 9, 2005, the world lost a legend and Wyoming lost a favorite son when country music superstar and hall of fame rodeo champion Chris LeDoux died from cancer. He was 56.
Born in Mississippi, where his father was stationed in the Air Force, LeDoux learned to rid on his grandparents' Wyoming farm. His family made their way to Cheyenne, where LeDoux went to Central High School in Cheyenne.
Durning his profession rodeo carer in the1970's, LeDoux wrote and recorded songs about his life for extra income. In the early 1980's he retired from the circuit and focused on music fulltime. During his carer he recorded dozens of albums, selling millions of copies worldwide.
Today Chris' legacy lives on through his timeless music and the music of his son Ned LeDoux.
