There are reports of Wyoming residents getting messages from Publishers Clearing House telling them that they won the sweepstakes and just need to pay a fee. This is a scam and not an from the real Publishers Clearing House. Know the warning signs of scammers. On the official PCH blog they have listed some steps to identify these scams. If you win the sweepstakes, the Prize Patrol will arrive at your door. Here are the signs of the scam:

  1. PCH will never ask for money to claim a prize. If they ask for money, do NOT give a penny for taxes, shipping and handling, or any kind of fee.
  2. PCH doesn’t email people if they win.
  3. PCH will never call you on the phone.
  4. PCH will not ask for a friend request or send private messages on Facebook.

If you feel like you are a victim of this scam, call PCH directly at 1-800-392-4190 or email abuse@pch.com. Don’t feel embarrassed. Just report any scams as soon as possible.
